  • Arsenal are in the market for a striker ahead of the new season, with Lacazette set to depart for free
  • The Gunners will need to bolster their attack, having already lost Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in January
  • There have been a number of strikers linked to Arsenal, including Juventus loanee Alvaro Morata

With the season concluding and clubs looking forward to the next campaign, a number of players are set to make some major moves in the transfer market.

Arsenal in particular is a club to watch ahead of the summer transfer window as the Gunners are keen on bolstering their attack ahead of the 2022/23 campaign.

Having lost Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to Barcelona in January, Arsenal failed to find a replacement soon enough, and had to see out the remainder of the season with services from Alexandre Lacazette, Eddie Nketiah and Gabriel Martinelli in attack.

Lacazette and Nketiah’s contracts run out in June, with Lacazette set to become a free agent in the summer.

For Nketiah, however, Mail reports that Arsenal want to renew his deal, but there is interest from both West Ham and Crystal Palace for the striker, who had a late-season flourish.

Regardless, a number of high-quality players have been linked with a summer move to Arsenal, who are almost certain to bolster their attack before the new season.

Tammy Abraham

Abraham has been a revelation under Jose Mourinho since leaving Chelsea for AS Roma last season.

The striker recently made history by becoming the highest-scoring Englishman in the Serie A, and his performances for the Italian outfit has led to links back to the Premier League.

Having just won the Europa Conference League with Roma, Abraham has not ruled out a return to English top flight, although he is content with his current situation at Roma.

Arsenal could be tempted to snap up his services next season.

Alvaro Morata

This is an interesting one as Caught Offside reports that Morata is ‘very close’ to joining the Gunners.

Morata is reportedly on the verge of moving back to England, with Arsenal ready to sign him in a deal believed to be worth £25million.

The Spaniard knows what it takes to win, having clinched the Champions League twice, and he has had spells with Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid and Juventus.

Serge Gnabry

Gnabry, a former Arsenal man, is also desired by the North London club.

According to Christian Falk, Gnabry could be interested in a return to North London, but the fact that Arsenal missed out on Champions League qualification could repel him.

Furthermore, Arsenal might not be able to sign him this summer due to a hefty price tag, although they might make a move for him in 2023, when he is a free agent.
