His son John Barker, a renowned film director, said to Robert Marawa on Marawa Sports Worldwide:

"It’s been a rough period for the family especially as we are all in different parts of the country. He has been moved out of the ICU and into the general ward, but it’s something that will definitely take its toll on him physically and mentally. He is a fighter and always has been so hopefully he will be around for much longer."

Hugo Broos blasts Andile Jali

It does not matter who you are, but when it comes to criticism from Hugo Broos, you are not safe.

This time it was Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder, Andile Jali's turn, to face criticism by Bafana Bafana's Belgian coach.

Touching on the allegations that he arrived drunk at a practice not long ago, the Sunday World reported that Broos did not pull any punches.

Broos lays into Chiefs and Pirates

It is no secret that Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates are mediocre outfits at the moment.

This is as Mamelodi Sundowns tightens its stranglehold on football in South Africa.

Bafana Bafana coach, Hugo Broos has expressed his annoyance with the Soweto giants for their slide into near irrelevance, suggesting that it was undermining the national team's ambition to return to the top.
