Furious Ajax Star Slams Disrespect Shown at African Cup of Nations in Stunning Statement

Sebastien Haller who plays as a forward for Dutch side Ajax has hit out at disrespect shown at the African Cup of Nations tournament which is expected to start on January 9 in Cameroon.

Algeria are the reigning champions of Africa and the North African nation will want to impress and try their best to retain their title next month.

There have been talks over the availability of some African players playing for top European clubs for the coming African Cup of Nations with some sides finding it difficult to release them.

Liverpool who are Premier League giants are expected to be without their big stars Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane as these two players will be in Cameroon for the AFCON.

Sébastien Haller was recently asked if he would leave his club and represent Ivory Coast in the coming African Cup of Nations and he felt offended with the question.

According to the report on Daily Mail and Mirror, the 27-year-old stated that such question was an insult for the competition.

'This question shows the disrespect for Africa.
''Would this question ever get asked to a European player ahead of the EUROs? Of course I am going to the Africa Cup of Nations.
''This tournament was actually supposed to be held in the summer, but was postponed due to COVID.
''Of course I will go to the Africa Cup to represent Ivory Coast. That is the highest honour.''

Native doctor predicts winner of the 2022 Africa Cup of Nations which starts on January 9

Earlier, Sports Brief had reported how the 2022 Africa Cup of Nations will start in Cameroon on January 9 and there are so many predictions from various quarters as regards who will win the title.

Nigerian outlet Punch are reporting that a famous Senegalese traditional doctor identified as Kahone, has “prophesied” that the Terenga Lions will win the trophy this year.

At the moment, not just Kahone has predicted the winner of the tournament as a famous Nigerian cleric Primate Ayodele said in his December prophecy that the nation’s National Football Team, Super Eagles will not win the AFCON.
