Super Eagles of Nigeria get stunning grade in latest FIFA ranking after wins over Benin and Lesotho

- Super Eagles of Nigeria are now the third best football nation in Africa

- This is according to the latest FIFA ranking released by the world's football body

- Nigeria are however occupying 32nd position on the global ranking

Super Eagles of Nigeria have been rated as the best third footballing nation in Africa in the latest FIFA ranking with Gernot Rohr and his men occupying 32nd in the world.

This latest rise by the Super Eagles in the FIFA ranking was as a result of their incredible wins over Lesotho and Benin in their last two games in March.

Gernot Rohr and his men were so superb in Porto Novo beating Benin 1-0, while they defeated visiting Lesotho 3-0 at the Teslim Balogun stadium in Lagos.

The two wins helped the Super Eagles to finish their campaign as leaders in their group and a ticket for the 2022 African Cup of Nations which will be played in Cameroon.

Senegal are occupying first position in Africa and they are placed 22 in the world, while Tunisia occupy second in Africa and are 26th in the world.

In the global ranking, Belgium are still the best footballing country in the world and they are being followed by France, while Brazil occupy third position.

England are fourth in the world ranking, while Portugal are occupying fifth position.

Earlier, had reported how former Super Eagles star Patrick Pascal who was rewarded with a three-bedroom apartment in Lagos thanked the governor of the state Babajide Sanwo-Olu.

Led by the president of the Nigerian Football Federation Amaju Pinnick, the Super Eagles players and coaching crew had dinner with Lagos state Governor on Thursday night, March 25 before their trip to Benin.

Pascal who is the current Super Eagles team coordinator was spotted during the night out and was rewarded with the prestigious gift.

While speaking with the Super Eagles, Governor Babajide explained that Pascal will get a new three-bedroom apartment in Lagos.

And in a chat, Pascal stated that receiving the prize after more than two decades is surprising. Pascal who featured for clubs in Turkey, China, Belgium and Nigeria further thanked the Lagos state community for the honour.

Patrick played 11 games for the Super Eagles of Nigeria between the year 1998 to 1999, but was unable to score any goal for the former African champions.
