Harambee stars players who took part in the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) are still owed KSh 10 million by the government.
The Football Kenya Federation (FKF) had promised to pay each of the 27 players and the 13 members of the technical bench winning bonuses of KSh 250, 000 at the tournament that is set to conclude on July 19 in Cairo, Egypt.

“We promised to pay each player KSh 250,000 in allowances for any win, but it is true that the money is yet to be paid and players are not in a hurry because we explained to them the situation,” Nick Mwendwa, the FKF boss said during an interview with Radio Jambo.
"The Sports CS (Amina Mohammed) is fully aware of this and the money will be paid once the whole process is followed," added Mwendwa.

Stars were eliminated at the group stages after losing to Sadio mane’s inspired Senegal in the last match of the group.

Kenya opened the campaigned with a 2-0 defeat to Algeria but picked up in the second match where they came from a goal down to down their East African neighbors, Taifa Stars 3-2.
