Lionel Messi was reportedly involved in a face off with angry Barcelona fans after their Champions League ouster.

Two goals each from Divock Origi and Georginio Wijnaldum saw the Reds complete another heroic comeback in the history of the competition.

SunSport however reports that the Argentine superstar confronted the furious supporters before being whisked away by his personal body guard and manager Pepe Costa.

Meanwhile, a few others hailed the 31-year-old, who arrived at the airport alone after missing the team's bus on the night.

Meanwhile, Luis Suarez has slammed Barca's defenders for their poor defending that made the team shipped in four goals.

He said: "For their fourth goal we looked like schoolboys, we have to be ready for all the criticism that is going to rain down on us now."
"We are very sad, we are in a lot of pain, we feel this pain even though we are professionals.We have to do a lot of self criticism because this is the second time that the same thing has happened to us," he added.
