Super Falcons shot-stopper, Chiamaka Nnadozie, has been voted the best goalkeeper in the French Women's League at the D1 Arkema Awards.

The Nigerian shot-stopper beat Olympique Lyon's Christiane Endler and Paris Saint-Germain's Katarzyna Kiedryznek to win the coveted award.

On Monday, April 29, Nnadozie became the first African goalkeeper to win the accolade after her efforts for Paris FC in the French Women's League.

Nnadozie expressed her excitement in a post on social media after winning the award.

"A big thanks to everyone who voted for me and also a Special appreciation to my coaches and teammates for all the support and encouragement, to an amazing family and Naija fans Una too much. GOD DID."

Nnadozie has been exceptional in 18 appearances for Paris FC this season, with two Team of the Week inclusions to her credit.

Of the 21 goals she conceded this season, 20 of them were in the box while she also made 46 saves, per Sofa Score.

The 23-year-old has also been a key figure for the Super Falcons of Nigeria, helping them qualify for the Olympic Games for the first time.

She was also a member of the team at the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup as Nigeria reached the Round of 16.

Malawi forward and PSG Women star, Tabitha Chawinga, was named the Player of the Season, per the official website of the French Football Federation.

Last year, Nnadozie was also named the best women's goalkeeper at the CAF Awards in Morocco.

Nnadozie wins Best Goalkeeper in Africa

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Nnadozie was Africa's best female goalkeeper after receiving recognition at the CAF Awards in Morocco.

The Nigerian edged other impressive nominees to the prestigious prize during the award ceremony in Marrakech on December 11, 2023.

Nnadozie impressed in the Women's World Cup game against Canada, making three crucial saves as the Super Falcons moved ahead.
