France, Greece, Spain, Portugal, and Italy have won the Euros in the 21st century, and all except Greece are in contention to lift it this year.

Favourites are yet to light up the tournament so far, but the knockout stage will separate the men from the boys. Has the list of favourites changed since Euro 2024 kicked off on June 14? Here is the latest power rankings.

Euro 2024 power rankings

5. England

The Three Lions have not always played swashbuckling football in the last few years. This year, they are no different. Gareth Southgate's team has performed poorly against Serbia and Denmark. They have gotten positive results, but the performances have angered their fans. The 1966 World Cup champions have always started slow but peak at the right time. Can they do that this time?

4. France

Les Bleus were pre-tournament favourites but are yet to arrive. Austria gave them a run for their money in the opening game, and they failed to beat a determined Netherlands side in their second match. Ballon d'Or contender, Kylian Mbappe, missed the second game due to injury, and it was evident they were missing their best player. However, France are elite with Mbappe on their team, so they will be favourites when he returns.

3. Portugal

The 2016 champions have one of the best squads in Germany, and they've shown why they are favourites in their first two matches. After narrowly beating the Czech Republic, they thrashed Turkey 3-0, per Football 365. Roberto Martinez has elite talent in almost every position, and top teams will test their credentials at the knockout stage.

2. Spain

Spain won the 2008 and 2012 editions with their legendary Golden Generation. Nico Williams and Lamine Yamal are the new generation, and they've lit up the tournament, playing a key part in Spain's impressive start to the tournament. They've comfortably dispatched Italy and Croatia without conceding a goal in a 'group of death'. They reached the semis in 2020, and it looks like they're headed in that direction.

1. Germany

The Germans are flying at Euro 2024. Since thumping Scotland 5-1 in the opening game, they have shown that they are capable of being competitive again following the 2022 World Cup debacle. Jamal Musiala, Ilkay Gundogan, and Florian Wirtz have impressed under Julian Nagelsmann. The 1996 champions have shown they have weapons to solve any problem they encounter during the game.

Harry Kane responds to England legend

Sports Brief earlier reported on Harry Kane responding to Gary Lineker after he criticised the team.

The Bayern Munich striker took issue with Lineker's comments, asking him to support instead.
