For the first time, Mbappe will lead France as captain in a major tournament, aiming to replicate the success of their 2018 World Cup victory in Germany.

France, one of the favourites to win the tournament, will compete against Austria, the Netherlands, and Poland in Group D, per ESPN.

During his conversation with Amanda Davies, the 25-year-old expressed his strong desire to secure another title for his national team.

Mbappe spoke in flawless English, making it almost unnoticeable that he is actually French.

The interview clip garnered 18 million views, with many viewers surprised by the Frenchman's American-sounding accent.

Fans reactions to Mbappe's English accent

Many praised Mbappe for his impressive fluency in English, especially since he has never lived in an English-speaking country.

@TheEuropeanLad posted:

"Can’t even tell he’s from France, that’s great English."

@FPLFalse9 said:

"Did not expect him to sound like that. He's superb."

@holardamolar reacted:

"Never knew his English was this good."

@justPat9 posted:

"Bro has a better accent than most English players."

@Yemmie_ added:

"He speaks English so well for a French national … that’s a good diction."

Mbappe, France's third-highest goalscorer with 47 goals, clinched the Golden Boot at the last World Cup by netting eight times, including a hat-trick in the exhilarating final against Argentina.

Despite Les Bleus' heartbreaking loss on penalties, Mbappe is determined to win the Euros and complete an impressive trio of international trophies early in his career.

Zidane makes confident Mbappe forecast

Relatedly, Sports Brief reported that the iconic French midfielder, Zinedine Zidane, has made a confident forecast regarding Mbappe.

Reflecting on his compatriot's transition to the Spanish capital, Zidane voiced optimism and projected that the forward could eclipse all others at the club.

"[Mbappe] is here now. He will leave his mark in history, and I believe he will outshine everyone," Zizou remarked.
