Sports Brief has examined the clubs with the highest number of players in the Euro 2024 squads.

Clubs with the most players at Euro 2024

Barcelona, Bayern Munich, and RB Leipzig – 11 Players Each

Barcelona, Bayern Munich, and RB Leipzig each have 11 players heading to Euro 2024.

Barcelona's contingent is heavily represented in the Spanish squad with Ferran Torres, Fermin Lopez, Pau Cubrasi, and Lamine Yamal.

The Catalan club have players representing various other national teams: Jules Kounde for France, Ilkay Gundogan and Marc-Andre ter Stegen for Germany, Joao Cancelo and Joao Felix for Portugal, Andreas Christensen for Denmark, and Robert Lewandowski for Poland. Frenkie de Jong was also selected for the Netherlands but had to withdraw due to injury.

Bayern Munich features prominently in the German squad, with six of their 11 players (54.55%) playing for the host nation.

In contrast, RB Leipzig's 11 players are distributed across eight different national teams, including David Raum and Benjamin Henrichs for Germany.

Real Madrid – 12

Real Madrid, the current European champions, have a strong presence at Euro 2024.

Twelve players from Carlo Ancelotti’s squad are set to compete, including Jude Bellingham, who joins England as La Liga’s Player of the Season for 2023-24.

Toni Kroos has come out of international retirement to join club teammate Antonio Rudiger in representing host nation Germany, per Yahoo Sports.

Real Madrid also has strong representation with three players each for both Spain and France.

Per GOAL, Croatia's captain will be Luka Modric, Ukraine's roster will include Andriy Lunin, and keep a look out for Arda Güler.

The Turkish teenager finished the season in excellent form for Real Madrid and is one to watch this summer.

Paris Saint-Germain – 12 Players

Paris Saint-Germain has 12 players participating in Euro 2024.

The club is well-represented in the French squad with five players: Kylian Mbappe, Ousmane Dembele, Randal Kolo Muani, Bradley Barcola, and Warren Zaïre-Emery, all selected by Didier Deschamps.

PSG also have a strong presence in the Portuguese team, with Goncalo Ramos, Danilo, Vitinha, and Nuno Mendes set to compete for Portugal.

Inter Milan – 13 Players

Inter Milan are sending 13 players to Euro 2024 after a successful season that saw them capture the Serie A title.

Italy’s squad features four Inter players, including Nicolo Barella and Alessandro Bastoni, who were part of the Euro 2020-winning team under former manager Roberto Mancini.

Yann Sommer, the top goalkeeper for clean sheets in Europe’s top five leagues during the 2023-24 season, will represent Switzerland. Hakan Çalhanoğlu will captain Turkey, while Benjamin Pavard and Marcus Thuram will compete for tournament favourites France. Marcus Thuram, who netted 15 goals in his debut season at the San Siro, is aiming to follow in the footsteps of his father, Lilian Thuram, by winning the European Championship with Les Bleus.

Manchester City – 14 Players

Manchester City lead the pack with the most players at this summer's Euro 2024, sending 14 members of Pep Guardiola’s squad to the tournament.

This group includes Kevin De Bruyne, Ruben Dias, Jeremy Doku, Manuel Akanji, Nathan Ake, Josko Gvardiol, Mateo Kovacic, Matheus Nunes, Rodri, Bernardo Silva, John Stones, Phil Foden, and Kyle Walker. Each player is looking to add an international trophy to their collection alongside the Premier League, Club World Cup, and UEFA Super Cup titles they secured in the 2023-24 season.

Portugal’s scary, squad depth

Sports Brief earlier analsyed Portugal’s squad and the immense depth Seleção enjoys ahead of the Euros.

Portugal’s squad is a mix of promising young talent, players in their prime and veteran superstars like Ronaldo.

Unlike many of the squads of the teams in the Euro 2024, Portugal hardly has any player who can be considered ‘second choice’, a dynamic that will make it difficult for Roberto Martinez to pick a consistent starting XI.
