The South African national team are flying high, and the fans are loving it.

After drawing with Nigeria last week, Bafana turned on the heat on a cold winter evening in Bloemfontein to beat Zimbabwe.

As noted by News24, Thapelo Morena came off the bench to score a brace as Hugo Broos’ men won 3-1.

The game got off to a crazy start as Iqraam Rayners scored after 35 seconds before Tawanda Chirewa scored Zimbabwe’s equaliser 75 seconds later.

Mamelodi Sundowns’ Morena then came on in the second half to turn the tide and score twice.

Fans rave over Bafana’s performance

The national team’s performance naturally got fans talking, as many were amazed at how well the side were playing.

Bafana have been criticised in recent years, so many were pleasantly surprised to see the side play in such a way.

Broos applauds Bafana's performance

Sports Brief reported how Bafana coach, Broos, heaped praise on his men for their performance against Nigeria.

South Africa took on the Super Eagles in World Cup qualifier in Nigeria and walked away with a hard-fought draw.

Speaking after the tie, the Belgian congratulated his team for grinding out a result against a tough Nigerian team.
