Al-Nassr superstar, Cristiano Ronaldo, took to social media to share his emotions after leading Portugal to a convincing victory against Ireland ahead of the 2024 European Championship.

The veteran forward scored twice as the Selecao easily dispatched their opponents in their final warm-up game for the 17th edition of the Euros, which kicks off on June 14.

After missing Portugal's matches against Finland and Croatia, the 39-year-old returned to the starting line-up and repaid head coach, Roberto Martinez's faith with two goals.

His first score came in the 50th minute when he unleashed an unstoppable shot into the top corner after receiving a floated pass from Ruben Neves, according to GOAL.

The former Manchester United, Real Madrid, and Juventus ace then sealed his brace with a sublime finish from inside the box, sealing a dominant performance for the home side.

Ronaldo's two goals against Ireland increased his international tally to an impressive 130 goals, 22 more than second-placed Ali Daei and 24 more than Lionel Messi, per the Olympics.

After the match, Ronaldo expressed his feelings about the game on social media and looked forward to the upcoming Euros.

"Grande vitória, equipa! Rumo ao Europeu!" he wrote on X in Portuguese, which translates to English as 'Big win, team! Heading to the European Championship!'

In the same game, Sports Brief also reported that Ronaldo moved fans with a touching gesture before Portugal's final warm-up against Ireland.

In a video circulating on social media, the veteran forward is seen gently pushing a girl with cerebral palsy in a wheelchair onto the pitch.

Social media fans have lauded Ronaldo for his kindness and compassion, as he was seen bonding with the girl while escorting her to the field.
