His 35 goals etched his name in the history of the league, overtaking Abderrazak Hamdallah as the player with the most goals in a single season in the Gulf country, per GOAL.

Additionally, his achievement made him the only player in the history of the sport to finish as top scorer in four different leagues after chalking a similar feat in the Premier League, La Liga, and Serie A.

Despite the accolades, Ronaldo was unable to guide Al-Nassr to King's Cup glory as the Knights of Najd lost 5-4 on post-match penalty shootouts.

The heartbreaking result left the 39-year-old devastated.

According to the BBC, he was spotted in uncontrollable tears after Al-Hilal's success at the King Abdullah Sports City in Jeddah.

Ronaldo flaunts well-trimmed body on vacation

Fast forward to Monday, June 3, and the five-time Ballon d'Or winner has bounced back from the recent defeat with a fresh social media update.

Now enjoying his vacation, CR7 displayed his toned physique, showing off his abs in a shirtless photo.

He accessorised with sunglasses and a white cap, pairing his off-white sneakers perfectly with his blue Gucci shorts.

What's next for Cristiano Ronaldo?

The former Manchester United, Real Madrid, and Juventus ace will continue with his holidays before linking up with the Portugal national team ahead of this month's European Championship.

However, he will miss the Selecao's preparatory games against Finland and Croatia on June 4 and 8, respectively.

He will most likely return in time for their final pre-Euro 2024 warm-up game against Ireland three days before the start of the tournament.

Sundowns star Shalulile cites Ronaldo as role model

Sports Brief also reported that Cristiano Ronaldo has been an inspiration to footballers globally, including those in the DStv Premiership.

Ronaldo's enduring career and unwavering passion for the sport have been widely admired, a sentiment echoed by Peter Shalulile.

The Mamelodi Sundowns forward said Ronaldo inspired him and has joined the many who credit the veteran for their determination.
