Paris Saint-Germain president, Nasser Al-Khelaifi, has commented on Kylian Mbappe's potential transfer to Real Madrid amid reports of a wages and bonus dispute between the player and the club.

Despite their occasionally strained relationship, the Parisians chief wished the French superstar well in his future endeavours and left the door open for a possible return.

Although the 25-year-old has yet to confirm his next move, it has been widely known for months that Real Madrid is his likely destination.

PSG chief opens up about Mbappe's likely Madrid move

Ahead of his potential move, the PSG chief waxed lyrical about his former prized asset.

"I wish Kylian the best," he began, as cited by MadridZone.

Since arriving from AS Monaco in the summer of 2017, Mbappe has secured his legacy as a bona fide PSG legend.

Over his seven-year spell at Parc des Princes, making 308 appearances, he became the club's all-time top scorer with 256 goals and provided 108 assists, per Transfermarkt, all while amassing numerous trophies.

Al-Khelaifi was quick to laud his departing star for these extraordinary accomplishments.

"He did great things for us, and I'm proud of him."

He also left the door open for a potential return for Mbappe, acknowledging that the 2018 World Cup winner's ambition to challenge himself in a different league influenced his departure.

"Who knows? Maybe one day he will come back to France. I know his ambitions, he wanted to go to another league and try new things, and he has the right to do it."

When will Real Madrid announce Mbappe?

Meanwhile, transfer market specialist, Fabrizio Romano, reports that Real Madrid intend to finalise and announce Mbappe's deal before Euro 2024, irrespective of PSG's stance.

Despite Mbappe's contract with PSG expiring in June, the announcement by the Spanish giants could still be made before the tournament begins.

The saga between Kylian Mbappe and PSG has taken a new turn, with reports indicating the French club has yet to pay the forward his April salary, as reported by Sports Brief.

PSG president Al-Khelaifi, responsible for the club's dealings with Mbappe, reportedly reversed his stance on bonuses and is now seeking compensation from his future team.
