Andriy Lunin will not accompany the squad due to the flu, according to Madrid Universal.

The 25-year-old goalkeeper has been a standout for Los Blancos in every Champions League knockout match.

The Ukraine international has effectively filled in as a reliable stopper while Thibaut Courtois recovered from a cruciate ligament rupture sustained in August 2023.

He showcased his heroics in the penalty shootout victory over Manchester City by saving efforts from Bernardo Silva and Mateo Kovacic.

Lunin to miss Real Madrid trip to London

Lunin will not travel with the squad on Thursday to prevent the spread of his illness.

However, Madrid XTRA reports that he may head to London on Friday or Saturday once the risk of contagion has passed.

Meanwhile, Lunin's wife, Anastasiia Tomazova, has shared photos of him training at home.

The goalkeeper was photographed running in their garden, suggesting he is on the road to recovery.

She captioned the post: "When the fever isn't an obstacle to training. I'm so proud of you."

Ancelotti, 64, now faces a decision on whether to stick with Lunin as his cup goalkeeper despite the illness.

The Italian gaffer might choose to start Courtois instead.

The 32-year-old former Chelsea goalkeeper has established himself as one of the world's best since moving to Spain in 2018.

Terzic fires warning to Real Madrid

Sports Brief recently reported on Dortmund's coach firing a warning to Real Madrid ahead of the final.

Edin Terzic sent a defiant message to the Spanish giants before Saturday's clash.

He hinted that Real Madrid's winning streak in the Champions League might come to an end this weekend.
