According to data from Fotmob, the Super Eagles midfielder contributed six goals and six assists throughout the season. This impressive return has attracted interest from several elite clubs across Europe.

A recent report from Foot Mercato indicates that Olympique Lyon is considering a move for the Super Eagles star to strengthen their squad ahead of the 2024/25 season. This pursuit is fueled by a standoff between Ndidi and Leicester City regarding a contract extension at King Power Stadium.

In light of this, Sports Brief examines potential destinations for the Nigerian midfielder as the summer transfer window approaches.

Possible transfer destinations for Ndidi

France - Olympique Lyon

According to the publication, Olympique Lyon are among the clubs linked with a move for the Super Eagles midfielder.

The seven-time French Ligue 1 champions, who attempted to secure a loan deal for the 27-year-old in the summer of 2023, are now hopeful that his free-agent status will facilitate a transfer this summer.

Additionally, the French club recently completed the signing of Nigerian striker, Gift Orban.

England - Aston Villa, Tottenham Hotspur, and Everton

Ndidi has the option of remaining in England, as several Premier League clubs are keen on signing him. According to a report from Caught Offside, the midfielder is holding out for a move to a top-six EPL club, with Aston Villa emerging as the favourite.

Unai Emery’s side can offer him UEFA Champions League football, among other incentives, making them an attractive destination for the combative midfielder. Tottenham and Everton are also reportedly eyeing a move for Ndidi.

Spain - Real Betis and Barcelona

The EFL Championship winner is also drawing interest from Spain, should he decide to continue his career outside of England. According to a report from Football Espana, Barcelona are among the clubs interested in Ndidi.

The midfielder is also attracting attention from Manuel Pellegrini’s Real Betis, particularly as they are likely to lose defensive midfielder, Guido Rodriguez, who has yet to sign a new deal with the Seville club.

Ndidi's eventual destination is far from certain. However, it is evident that should the Leicester City man bid farewell to the King Power Stadium, he will have no shortage of options.

Ndidi to reject Leicester’s extension

Sports Brief also previously reported that Ndidi is set to reject Leicester City’s latest contract offering.

The 27-year-old could be on the move, especially with the Foxes likely to lose their manager to Chelsea.
