According to a report by Soccernet, Xabi Alonso's team put their midweek loss behind them and earned a deserved victory despite being one man down for most of the second half.

Boniface played no part in the final as he was on the bench all through, but celebrated the victory with his teammates at the end of the game.

The Nigerian international took to his official handle on X (formerly Twitter) to comment on his team's victory in the DFB Pokal final and show his winner's medal.

"2 in my first season, Not bad," the Super Eagles star said on X.
