Initially, The Rock only confirmed his father’s death by issuing a lengthy tribute to him on Instgram.
On Sunday, Janaury 19, however, the successful actor spoke in more detail on what his father meant to him and what ultimately led to his death.
As it turns out, Rocky had an array of ailments in the lead up to his death an eventually succumbed to a heart attack which initially stemmed from a blood clot in his leg.
"A lot of you wanted to know what happened to my dad. He had not been feeling well. Been battling a cold, an infection. On Tuesday he had a deep vein thrombosis, which is essentially a blot clot in the leg, a big ol’ blood clot. It broke free, traveled up his body and went right to his lung,” The rock explained.
He goes on to reveal while the heart attack was painful to bear, his father passed away fairly quick.
“It clotted his lung and he died very quickly from a massive heart attack. According to the medical examiner who performed the autopsy, it was clear, very evident of what had happened. My question was, ‘Was he in pain? Did he go quick? Was it drawn out?’ He said, ‘He went fast. He went quick,”
Like any child who lost his parent the 47-year old wished he would have spent at least one last moment with his father before he crossed over.

FootballVeterans remember Johnson as a charismatic man who in the ring had some iconic rivalries with the likes of Greg “The Hammer” Valentine, Don Muraco and Adrian Adonis.
The Hall of famer retired in 1991 but that was not the end of his wrestling passion as he transitioned to becoming a trainer, and his biggest project was his own son Dwayne.
