While he did not replicate the same this season, the Norwegian still managed to reclaim the prize after he found the back of the net 27 times.

This feat saw him ink his name in history books, becoming only the sixth player to win successive Golden Boots.

Haaland has also made history as the first player to achieve this milestone in his first two seasons in the English topflight.

Sports Brief takes a look at the other five players on the list of back-to-back EPL top scorers.

5 Premier League back-to-back Golden Boot winners

1. Alan Shearer

The Newcastle United legend won the award three times in a row between 1994 and 1997.

His highest goal-scoring seasons were in 1993/94, when he scored 34 goals for the Magpies.

He matched the same tally the following season with Blackburn Rovers.

2. Michael Owen

The prolific English striker carved a name for himself while playing for Liverpool and Manchester United.

He won back-to-back Golden Boots shared between the clubs in 1997/98 and 1998/99.

The Frenchman is the record holder for the most Golden Boots (four).

He won the award for three consecutive seasons between 2003/04 with the Invincibles and in 2005/06.

4. Robin van Persie

The Dutch icon is widely recognised as one of the most lethal strikers in Pe Premier League history.

Van Persie won his first Golden Boot in 2011/12 with Arsenal before retaining the crown the following season after he moved to Manchester United.

Incidentally, his exploits at Old Trafford helped United lift the Premier League title that season.

Haaland wins prestigious IFFHS

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Haaland beat Lionel Messi to an award after the International Federation of Football History & Statistics declared him the best player of 2023.

The awards were reintroduced in 2020, with Robert Lewandowski winning it back-to-back years before the Argentine scooped last year's accolade ahead of Karim Benzema.
