Victor Boniface has dedicated the Bundesliga Rookie of the Year award to his fans, following his announcement as the winner of the prestigious gong by league organisers.
The 23-year-old forward has enjoyed a stellar campaign in his first season in Germany, scoring 13 goals and providing nine assists in 22 appearances for Xabi Alonso’s team.
According to Daily Post, Boniface was nominated alongside RB Leipzig’s Xavi Simmons, Borussia Dortmund’s Ian Maatsen, and Hoffenheim’s Maximilian Beier as the league's best newcomer.
The 23-year-old, who joined Bayer Leverkusen last summer from Union SG in Belgium, made an instant impact in the Bundesliga, winning the Rookie of the Month award for four months in a row.

Without losing a game, Leverkusen would go on to win the Bundesliga title for the first time in 120 years, dethroning Bayern Munich after an 11-season era of dominance.
