Ivory Coast youngster, Amad Diallo marked his debut Premier League goal in a special way after scoring a scorcher in Manchester United's clash against Newcastle United.

Diallo, who was a doubt before the game after limping off in the 1-0 defeat to Arsenal on Sunday, started for the Red Devils in the penultimate game of the season against the Magpies.

The former Atalanta winger repaid Erik ten Hag with his trust in him after scoring what could end up being the winner at Old Trafford.

In a video that has since gone viral on social media, Diallo volleyed home after Alexander Isak failed to clear a corner kick from the right side.

Manchester United had opened the scoring through another youngster Kobbie Mainoo on the half-hour mark but the visitors levelled moments after the break after Anthony Gordon met a Jacob Murphy cross.

Diallo put the Red Devils in front before the hour mark. Summer signing Rasmund Hojllund then sealed victory for the struggling English giants with four minutes remaining.

However, Lewis Hall pulled one back late for the Magpies as they left Old Trafford empty-handed.

They will end the season with a trip to Brighton while Newcastle United face Brentford.

Manchester United keeps European hopes alive

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Manchester United kept alive their hopes of salvaging a dismal season by qualifying for Europe as Amad Diallo's rocket inspired a 3-2 win against Newcastle on Wednesday.

Erik ten Hag's side are battling to secure a seventh place finish in the Premier League, which could secure a place in next season's UEFA Conference League.

United will qualify for the Europa League if they win the FA Cup final against Manchester City on May 25.

Diallo opens up on FA Cup winner vs Liverpool

Sports Brief also reported that Amad Diallo expressed excitement following his last-minute heroics for Manchester United against Liverpool in the FA Cup.

The Ivorian winger scored the winner as the Red Devils edged their rivals 4-3 at Old Trafford in an epic quarter-final showdown.

Having struggled with injuries and for game time, Diallo proved decisive after coming on for Manchester United in the second half.
