Manchester United have reportedly made the final decision on sacking Erik ten Hag ahead of the FA Cup final.

The manager has come under immense pressure in recent weeks, with a section of fans and pundits wanting him gone.

United have endured a disastrous run of form under the Dutchman this season, with a mixed run of form denying them a UEFA Champions League spot for next season.

To put their struggles into perspective, the Red Devils have managed just 16 wins in 36 Premier League games, leaving them eighth in the standings.

Ten Hag's credentials were further put into question earlier in the week after United suffered a 4-0 humiliation against Crystal Palace.

Sports Mole reports the defeat saw a number of the club's supporters taking to social media calling for his sacking before the season ends.

However, per The Telegraph, United chiefs have decided against getting rid of the former Ajax boss in the interim.

As such, the 54-year-old will be in the dugout when they take on rivals, Manchester City, in the FA Cup final.

The two Manchester sides will face off in the final of the domestic cup on May 25 at Wembley Stadium.

United sailed through after a hard-fought win over Coventry, which was decided via the shootouts in the semis.

Ten Hag's men will be playing Arsenal in the Premier League in their next fixture scheduled for Sunday, May 12.

Jose Mourinho keen on Man United return

Sports Brief also reported on Jose Mourinho plotting a sensational return to Old Trafford to replace ten Hag.

The Portuguese tactician spent close to three years with the team between May 2016 and December 2018.

Mourinho won two trophies during his tenure with the Premier League giants, including the Europa League.
