History was made in the Premier League on Monday night.
Jarred Gillett became the first referee in the English top flight to wear a camera during a match he was officiating.
The league picked the perfect time to debut this technology, with Crystal Palace crushing Manchester United in a 4-0 upset at Selhurst Park.
Why Gillett wore a Refcam
Officials said that Gillett wore a camera for the first time in Premier League history to capture footage for a one-off short programme that will promote the job of match referees.

Premier League Productions will make the said programme, per Manchester Evening News.
The filming aims to give football fans further insight into how challenging the role of refereeing is in the Premier League. The video gathered from Gillett's camera will not be broadcast live, but fans will be able to see it later.
The technology that the referee used comprised a head-mounted device, which was then integrated into the usual communications system that is used by match officials on game day.
The Premier League, Professional Game Match Officials Limited (PGMOL), The International Football Association Board (IFAB), Manchester United, and Crystal Palace needed to approve the filming.
The Premier League thanked the two clubs for their willingness to support the project.
Referee Gillett's Premier League record
Gillett officiated 19 Premier League matches this season before being given the historic task, per ESPN.
