Erik ten Hag gave a concise answer when asked about rumours that Manchester United was prepared to sell all its senior players in the next transfer windows.
United have come under intense scrutiny in recent weeks following a string of poor results. Their latest 1-1 draw against relegation-threatened Burnley only added to the criticism, as fans slated several members of the first team squad for inconsistent performances.
Ten Hag has also not been safe from fans’ wrath, and there are rumours that the gaffer could lose his job as the club heads in a new direction under Sir Jim Ratcliffe.
Recently, sensational rumours have circulated that the no-nonsense Ratcliffe was willing to part ways with United’s underperformers, which could potentially mean a mass overhaul of the first team.

Ten Hag responds to rumours
Speaking in his latest press conference on Thursday, May 2, Ten Hag dismissed the reports, labelling them as a “joke”.
He also slammed the media for always linking United players with moves away from the club.
“As long as I've worked here, every summer, every window, I think 200 players are getting interest from Manchester United. We did some research. Untrue,” he said, per Sky Sports.
“And also every summer we sell all of the players in our squad, so you (in the media) are making all of the headlines, which is untrue.”

What next for United?
While United are mathematically out of the race for Champions League football, Ten Hag’s focus will be having a strong finish to the season and perhaps qualify for the Europa League.
United’s next game is a clash against Crystal Palace on Monday, May 6, in a game which Marcus Rashford is a major doubt.
