Guinea forward, Serhou Guirassy, has reacted to news of VfB Stuttgart's UEFA Champions League qualification for the 2024/25 season.

The Bundesliga side secured their place in next season's competition after Borussia Dortmund's victory over Paris Saint-Germain in the first leg of the semi-final of the 2023/24 Champions League.

The win gives Germany a fifth spot in the competition following the new changes to Europe's elite competition.

With three games remaining to end the Bundesliga season, Stuttgart sits third on the table with 64 points and seven adrift of fifth place Dortmund. This means the worst for Stuttgart will be finishing in fifth place at the end of the campaign.

"This club deserves it," wrote Guirassy on X, formerly Twitter.

The lanky forward has been key to Stuttgart's success this season, becoming the first player in the history of the club to score 25 Bundesliga goals in the ongoing campaign, per Transfermarkt.

Twelve months ago, Stuttgart were battling for survival and only remained in the league via a relegation play-off.

They will now join new German champions Bayer Leverkusen, UEFA Champions League semi-finalists Bayern Munich and RB Leipzig as the Bundesliga representatives in next year's competition.

Guirassy sets new club record

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Guinea forward Serhou Guirassy set a new club record after netting his 25th Bundesliga goal for VfB Stuttgart this season.

The free scoring forward scored again as Stuttgart defeated Eintracht Frankfurt 3-0 to close in on their UEFA Champions League place qualification last month.

Guirassy now stands on his own as the Stuttgart player to score the most goals in a single Bundesliga campaign, according to OptaFranz.

Sports Brief also reported that Guinea forward, Serhou Guirassy received his second Bundesliga Player of the Month award following an impressive run in March.

The Stuttgart forward netted five times in four matches to beat Bayern Munich duo Harry Kane and Jamal Musiala as well as RB Leipzig's Xavi Simons and David Raum, and Alejandro Grimaldo of Bayer Leverkusen to the award.

Guirassy expressed delight after scooping the award for the second time, thanking fans of the Bundesliga for voting for him.
