AC Milan coach, Stefano Pioli, has confirmed why he benched Super Eagles forward, Samuel Chukwueze, in their goalless draw against Juventus over the weekend.
The Rossoneri failed to find the back of the net against the Old Lady in an Italian Serie A fixture at the Allianz Stadium.
Chukwueze started the game from the bench despite his recent incredible performance for Milan in the league.
The Nigerian international replaced former Chelsea star Christian Pulisic in the 83rd minute but couldn't help Milan win against Maximilliano Allegri's side. Both teams continue to battle for second place in the league.

Several fans criticised Pioli for putting Chukwueze on the bench due to his form, but the Italian tactician has disclosed the reason behind his decision, according to a report by Complete Sports.
"I liked Christian Pulisic (vs. Juventus) instead. Samuel Chukwueze is also fine, but at the moment, I would not give up an extra midfielder to play with four attacking players, and therefore, Chukwuze is the one sacrificed the most at the moment," the Italian coach confirmed after the game.
Chukwueze could still win the battle with Pulisic for a place in the starting lineup next season, with Milan planning to appoint a new coach.
Former Real Madrid boss Julen Lopetegui has been tipped to replace Pioli at the club next season, and it could be the change Chukwueze needs at the San Siro.

FootballSports Brief earlier reported that AC Milan's legendary manager, Arrigo Sacchi, has commented on Chukwueze's recent superb form with the Rossoneri after a poor start to the season.
The former Villarreal star could not break into Pioli's starting lineup, with the Italian coach preferring former Chelsea forward Christian Pulisic to the Nigerian.
Chukwueze has started to gain the trust of the Milan boss. He has made the starting lineup in the last two games and registered one goal and one assist.
