An alarming full-time statistic has defined Manchester United's 1-1 draw with relegation-battling Burnley at Old Trafford.

The stalemate at Old Trafford effectively seals United's fate in terms of Champions League qualification, a conclusion that has loomed for several weeks now.

With the Red Devils currently positioned sixth in the league, their focus shifts towards securing participation in European competition next season, albeit in a lesser capacity.

Profligacy reared its ugly head for Erik ten Hag's troops early doors, but a 79th-minute strike from Antony - his first Premier League goal of the season - would ostensibly prove sufficient for maximum points.

However, a moment of madness from Andre Onana offered Vincent Kompany's side the chance to restore parity from the spot, which they took through Zeki Amdouni, leaving the Red Devils 12 points off the Champions League spots with just 12 left to fight for.

Hojlund's alarming stats vs Burnley

.Rasmus Hojlund ended his scoring drought in Wednesday's 4-2 win over Sheffield United but failed to find the net in the Burnley clash, leading to his substitution by Ten Hag after 65 minutes.

The lack of service to Hojlund is evident in an alarming statistic: according to Statman Dave, goalkeeper Andre Onana passed to him more times than any United outfield player at Old Trafford.

Onana found Hojlund only four times, still surpassing right-back Diogo Dalot, who connected with him three times

Bruno Fernandes formed the next most frequent pass combinations with Hojlund, connecting twice, while several other players only managed to find him once.

According to The Daily Mail, earlier this month, Hojlund reportedly voiced concerns to United coaches regarding the insufficient service he was receiving from Fernandes.

Sports Brief also reported on how Erik ten Hag openly showed his frustration after Manchester United surrendered a lead to draw 1-1 against relegation-threatened Burnley on Saturday, April 27.

The Red Devils looked to be on course for an unlikely win against an impressive Burnley side, but were pegged back late in the game from the penalty spot.
