Thomas Tuchel has an outside chance of retaining his position as Bayern Munich manager, if the club decides to listen to a section of fans.
The German announced earlier in the year that he would not continue with the Bavarians, barely 14 months since succeeding Julian Nagelsmann.
Despite winning the Bundesliga in his first season with the German giants, Tuchel has had an underwhelming second spell, with Bayern surrendering the title to Bayer Leverkusen.
A German Cup exit means there is no hope for domestic silverware for Bayern, but Tuchel’s side have shown some promise in the Champions League after knocking out English title contenders Arsenal.

Despite the club’s struggles this season, fans are intent on seeing Tuchel continue at the dugout, and a petition has since been filed, according to The Athletic.
The petition, dubbed ‘We want Juppel (Tuchel) and not (Ralf) Rangnick!’, was launched on change.org, and has accrued over 10,000 signatures since Tuesday, April 23.
It reads:
“Despite the negative media coverage surrounding him and the personnel situation with the injury-plagued Munich team, the Champions League winner led his team to the semi-finals of the Champions League."
“With all due respect to candidates like (Aston Villa coach Unai) Emery or Rangnick, these coaches can’t hold a candle to ‘Juppel’ (Tuchel).
Bayern fans don’t want Rangnick
Earlier this week, it was announced that former Manchester United interim boss Ralf Rangnick was in talks with the club about a potential job.
Nathan Tella delighted to win first Bundesliga title with Bayer Leverkusen
FootballRangnick was practically the club’s third choice, as the club was intent on landing Xabi Alonso, but the Spaniard committed to Bayern Leverkusen with a new deal.
Julian Nagelsmann was the other option, but he also turned down the chance, and decided to go on with the German national team.
This leaves Bayern short of options for Tuchel’s replacement and could explain why fans prefer the former Chelsea boss to remain at the Allianz Arena.
Tuchel had initially signed a deal with Bayern that ran until 2025, but that all changed in February 2024 after a “constructive discussion with CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen.”
Does Kane regret joining Bundesliga?
Earlier, Sports Brief reported on whether Harry Kane had any regrets about joining the Bundesliga.
The English striker continued his league title drought after Bayern’s shortcomings in the German top-flight, but he insists he has no regrets.
Kane is the Bundesliga top scorer and has scored an impressive 40 goals across all competitions.
