The 2024-25 football season has been a thrilling ride for fans, and many Nigerian forwards have also played their respective part, delivering goals for their respective clubs.

Bayer Leverkusen’s Victor Boniface, and Napoli’s talisman, Victor Osimhen, are among the list of Nigerian attackers who are ensuring their impact is felt as the current football campaign winds down.

A few have even had the season better as they played an integral part in leading their club side to league glory and other cup competition victories.

In recognition of their achievements, Sports Brief shines the spotlight on five Nigerian players who have made the most goal contributions in Europe this season.

Nigerians with the most goal contributions in Europe this season

Victor Boniface

The 23-year-old couldn't have hoped for a better debut season with Bayer Leverkusen—barring the injuries, of course.

The versatile attacker completed a €20 million summer transfer to the Bundesliga club from Union St. Gilloise and has been a revelation of a signing since.

According to data from Fotmob, Boniface has been involved in 28 goals in his 29 appearances so far this season.

Cyriel Dessers

The 29-year-old striker has experienced a remarkable resurgence this season.

The Rangers forward has seen a significant increase in his goal tally compared to last season with Italian club, Cremonese. The Super Eagles forward has been involved in 26 goals this season, according to data from Fotmob.

Desser could cap off the season with a Scottish Premiership title with Rangers.

Victor Osimhen

The 2023 CAF Player of the Year is yet another Nigerian lighting up the European football scene.

Despite the flurry of transfer sagas the 25-year-old has faced, coupled with Napoli's underwhelming campaign, Osimhen has managed to be involved in 18 goals in his 28 appearances so far.

Toluwalese Arokodare

The Genk forward is another who has been in brilliant form this season. The 23-year-old particularly appears to have found his form in the second half of the season. As the Jupiler League giant chases a spot in next season's UEFA Champions League, the forward has contributed his fair share with an involvement in 16 goals.

Ademola Lookman

The mercurial forward is once again dominating the scene at Atalanta. The 26-year-old added to his goal tally with another goal and assist in the Coppa Italia semi-final against Fiorentina.

Currently, the dynamic winger has been involved in 15 goals in his 36 appearances this season.

Lookman also stands a chance of capping off the season with a title, as Atalanta prepares to lock horns with Juventus in the final of the Italian Cup.

Nigerians send message to Osimhen

In another report, Sports Brief stated that Nigerian fans have warned Osimhen to avoid joining Chelsea, following the Premier League club's humbling defeat by Arsenal.

The West London club were hit for five goals, with Leandro Trossard's early goal alongside second-half braces from Ben White and Kai Havertz securing Arsenal's victory.
