Liverpool's worst fear has come true.

Everton fans make fun of Liverpool's collapse

Everton supporters let their voices be heard, chanting, "You lost the league at Goodison Park" to their bitter rivals.

They had every right to deliver those chants as their team produced a spectacular performance on their home ground.

Jarrad Branthwaite gave Everton a dream start in the first half, opening the scoring with a fine close-range finish in the 27th minute.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin then sent Toffees fans into a frenzy in the second half, scoring a towering header in the 58th minute, per the BBC.

Jordan Pickford ensured that the two-goal advantage would hold, recording seven saves against the Reds.

He remained alive in the Premier League Golden Glove race by keeping his 11th clean sheet of the season in the win against Liverpool.

Liverpool suffer rare loss at Goodison Park

It was a disappointing defeat for the Reds, who lost a league match at Goodison Park for the first time since 2010.

Liverpool's title hopes took a huge hit with that loss. They trail league leaders Arsenal by three points with four matches remaining in their schedule.

Arsenal also boast a superior goal difference, making Liverpool's task of winning the championship even harder.

Klopp reacts to Everton defeat

Sports Brief recently reported on Klopp's reaction to the Everton loss.

He conceded that the Reds need a collapse from Arsenal and Manchester City to win the title.

He had enjoyed a dominant record over Everton before Wednesday's defeat.
