Arsenal put up a five-star display to brush aside lacklustre rivals Chelsea 5-0 in the London derby at the Emirates Stadium, compounding their miseries this season.

It was the Blues' worst result of the season and by far their poorest performance, which explains the season's inconsistencies and struggles under Mauricio Pochettino.

Sports Brief looks at Arsenal's biggest wins this season.

Arsenal's biggest wins this season

5-0 vs Chelsea

The match was uneven, Chelsea were second best throughout the game where their opponents did not have to do much. Per Opta, it was the Gunners' heaviest win over the West London side. Leandro Trossard opened the scoring, and two goals were each scored by former blue Kai Havertz and right-back Ben White wrapped it up.

They have goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic and Arsenal's wastefulness to thank for keeping the scoreline even more respectable than it could have been.

6-0, 5-0 vs Sheffield United

Mikel Arteta's men have beaten newcomers and relegation-threatened Sheffield United twice this season by a combined scoreline of 11-0 – 5-0 at the Emirates Stadium and 6-0 at Bramall Lane, keeping clean sheets on both occasions. Per Livescore, they became the first team to win three away consecutive games with 5+ goals.

6-0 Lens

Arsenal returned to the UEFA Champions League League with a bang after seven years, with an opening day 4-0 win over PSV Eindhoven. Matchday five was where they recorded their first 6-0 win of the season over RC Lens, avenging their first leg 2-1 defeat.

6-0 vs West Ham

The Gunners have embarrassed their London rivals or neighbours this season. They dismantled David Moyes' West Ham 6-0 in February at the London Olympic Stadium. Two of their next games after that match featured 5+ goals.

5-0 vs Crystal Palace

Another London team Arteta's side ruthlessly defeated was Crystal Palace 5-0 at the Emirates Stadium, marking a significant moment in Roy Hodgson's departure from the club.

5-0 vs Burnley

All of Arsenal's games in February were high-scoring, including the 5-0 demolition of another relegation team, Burnley, at Turf Moor, compounding the woes of Vincent Kompany.

Arteta sends message to Pochettino

Sports Brief reported on Arteta sending a message to Mauricio Pochettino after whitewashing his Chelsea side 5-0 at the Emirates Stadium on Tuesday night.

Both men have been friends since their time as players at Paris Saint-Germain, and the former La Masia graduate recognises the job his colleague is doing.
