Two weeks ago, City surged to the top of the table after a comfortable 5-1 win over Luton, with Liverpool and Arsenal stumbling in the title race after losses to Crystal Palace and Aston Villa, respectively.

Arsenal have since cemented their lead at the top after a 5-0 demolition of Chelsea last night (April 23).

Arteta had expressed confidence in beating the Blues, with his accurate prediction putting the Gunners in a strong position to win the Premier League title for the first time in two decades.

Arteta discloses Arsenal's advantage

In a pre-match press conference, Arteta exuded confidence his team's mentality gives them a psychological advantage in the Premier League title race against Manchester City and Liverpool.

The Spaniard emphasised the benefit of playing first among the title contenders.

"It helps because then you can win your matches and tighten the gap," he said via Metro UK. "That's all we can do right now, as the situation isn't entirely in our control."

Arteta further expressed his faith in his team's ability to perform well and secure victory.

"We'll keep trying, play our best, and aim to win. Success will undoubtedly increase the pressure, but that's a sign of doing our job well, and that's what truly matters," he stated.

However, Arsenal might face a tougher run of fixtures, including clashes against Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United.
