The 2023/24 Premier League title race is taking shape as we enter the final weeks of the campaign.

Arsenal, Manchester City, and Liverpool are still leading the hunt for the prestigious crown, with only a few games left to end the season.

With defending champions City focusing on the FA Cup competition, Arsenal found their way to the top of the table after a comfortable 2-0 win over Wolves on Saturday.

Leandro Trossard and Martin Odegaard found the net during the clash to send the Gunners back to the top with 74 points, level with the Reds.

Arsenal's crucial win came after back-to-back losses against Aston Villa in the Premier League and Bayern Munich in the Champions League.

Despite the apparent stiff competition in the title race, Mikel Arteta's charges are still the favourites to cart home the EPL title.

Sports Brief takes a look at five reasons why Arsenal could beat Liverpool and City to the title.

1. Solid defence

William Saliba and Gabriel's chemistry has kept the Arsenal defence solid this season, allowing only 26 goals in their net after 33 matches.

There is also no doubt that Declan Rice, who moved from West Ham United on a £105 million fee to Arsenal, has made major contributions to the stellar performance of the Arteta-led side.

2. Fixture schedule

After registering a win in their fixture against Wolves, Arsenal will be welcoming rivals Chelsea at the Emirates in a midweek fixture, a day before Manchester City face Brighton in an away fixture.

If Arteta's boys manage to beat Chelsea, they will open up a four-point gap between them and City, who will by then have two games in hand.

On paper, the north Londoners also have a relatively easier fixture list compared to their title rivals.

3. Impressive goal difference

With Arsenal, City, and Liverpool neck-to-neck in the title race, goal difference is likely to play a part in deciding who wins the title.

Should it get to that, the Gunners are likely to come out on top as they have an impressive seven-goal difference against defending champions Manchester City and even a solid lead over Liverpool.

4. Fatigue setting in

With the season coming to its tail end, fatigue has started kicking in.

A case in point is Manchester City's Saturday show against Chelsea, where Pep Guardiola's men, who have been fierce in their play, only managed a 1-0 narrow win against the Blues in their FA Cup fixture.

Arsenal, who only have the PL to concentrate on, might capitalise on this, as Liverpool have also been seen to be a bit shaky in their recent matches.

5. Liverpool struggling for positive results

Despite creating a number of chances, the Jurgen Klopp-led side only managed a point out of a possible six against Manchester United and Crystal Palace.

Klopp is expected to leave Anfield at the end of the season, with fans hoping that he will win a title before his departure. However, with Liverpool losing in their Europa League fixture against Atlanta and a slow pace in the PL race, the Reds might be giving Arsenal a greenlight to win the title.

Timber scores screamer on Arsenal return

Earlier, Sports Brief reported on Jurrien Timber scoring a screamer for Arsenal's U23 team after his return from injury.

The Dutchman had been sidelined for the better part of the season after he ruptured his ACL back in August 2023.
