The President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Ibrahim Gusau, recently visited the injured Super Eagles forward, Moses Simon.

Simon is recuperating from an injury sustained during an international friendly against Mali last month.

The Nantes winger collided with goalkeeper Mamadou Samassa during the first half at the Grande Stade de Marrakech in Morocco and was forced off the pitch with a fractured fibula.

The unfortunate incident meant the 28-year-old would be sidelined for the remainder of the 2023/24 season.

As part of his efforts to check on players' welfare, Gusau checked on Simon in Nantes to assess his recovery progress. He shared a photo on his social media page, with the player also expressing gratitude for the gesture.

"A visit to Moses Simon today in Nantes France, to see how he is recovering from his injury," Gusau posted, as reported by Soccernet.

Due to the injury, Simon will be unavailable for Nigeria’s upcoming 2026 World Cup qualifying matches against South Africa and Benin Republic.

FC Nantes also released a statement expressing support for the player’s recovery.

"Our Nigerian striker suffers from a broken fibula which means the end of the season. FC Nantes is already keen to provide its full support to its attacker and wishes him a speedy recovery," read the statement, as reported by Vanguard News.

In the current campaign, Simon scored three goals and registered six assists. He also recently signed a new three-year contract with Nantes and will be hoping to recover in time for next season.

Simon treats parents with quality vacation

Sports Brief reported that Simon treated his parents to a quality vacation in Paris despite being injured.

The former Levante forward posted a picture of himself with his parents on his official Instagram page as they explored the beautiful sights.

His gesture to his parents sparked different reactions from fans on social media.
