Scott McTominay opened the scoring for United, followed by Harry Maguire doubling their advantage with a powerful header just before halftime, per GOAL.

Bruno Fernandes extended United's lead to 3-0 in the second half with a deflected shot, seemingly sealing the victory.

However, the Championship side responded with determination, netting two quick goals courtesy of Ellis Simms and Callum O'Hare.

Their momentum culminated in Haji Wright converting a last-minute penalty after Aaron-Wan Bissaka's handball.

In a dramatic twist, Coventry believed they had clinched victory in extra time when Victor Torp scored, only for the goal to be disallowed due to an offside in the lead-up.

United to face Man City in finals

United's narrow victory paves the way for a highly anticipated rematch of last season's FA Cup final against arch-rivals Manchester City, who secured a 1-0 win over Chelsea a day earlier at Wembley.

This upcoming clash marks the first time the two teams will meet again in the FA Cup final, with City emerging victorious in their previous encounter with a 2-1 triumph.

History repeats itself as the City rivals take centre stage for another historic showdown at Wembley on May 25.

Per Sportbible, the last instance of such a consecutive FA Cup final matchup dates back to 1885 when Blackburn Rovers clashed with Scottish side Queen's Park, emerging victorious on both occasions.

Inside Man United's injury crisis

Earlier, Sports Brief reported on Man United having Maguire as the only centre-back available for their Coventry clash.

Raphael Varane, Victor Lindelof, Johny Evans, and Lisandro Martinez are all currently injured
