Stanley Nwabali has placed clubs worldwide on standby after reports emerged that the Super Eagles goalkeeper could be leaving South African club, Chippa United, at the end of the season.

The 27-year-old rose to stardom during Nigeria's campaign at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, helping the team win the silver medal and was also voted as the second-best goalkeeper.

According to Punch NG, Nwabali has reportedly refused to put pen to a new deal with Chippa United with just three months left on his current deal with the DStv Premiership club.

The Super Eagles goalie, who has attracted reported interest from Al-Ettifaq in Saudi Arabia and Queens Park Rangers in England, will be available as a free agent when his contract expires at the end of the season.

Nwabali is in his second year with Chippa United, having joined the South African league club in October 2022 after leaving Nigeria Premier Football League side, Katsina United.

Chippa United eye Nwabali replacement

Meanwhile, Chippa United is looking to sign Richard Ofori as a potential successor for Nwabali, amid uncertainty regarding the Super Eagles goalie’s future with the club, Football Live reports.

The Ghanaian keeper, whose contract with fellow South African club, Orlando Pirates, is set to expire this summer, would be an appealing prospect for the Chilli Boys between the sticks.

Nwabali has been widely tipped to move to a bigger club this summer after being linked with several top clubs in Europe after his outstanding showing at the 2023 AFCON in Ivory Coast.

Nwabali shutdown Chippa exit rumours

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Chippa United goalkeeper, Nwabali, dispelled rumours that have linked him with a move away from the club in the transfer window.

The 27-year-old goalie dismissed reports that he had received offers to leave Chippa and hoped to continue with the DStv Premier League club for two more seasons.

In Ivory Coast, Nwabali kept four clean sheets for Nigeria and started every match in the Super Eagles' impressive run to the final, where they lost to the host nation.
