Chippa United are reportedly making plans for life without Super Eagles goalkeeper, Stanley Nwabali, setting their sights on Ghanaian international, Richard Ofori.

Nwabali has been linked with a move away from the Premier Soccer League side after his excellent performance for Nigeria at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast.

The former Enyimba FC star is said to have attracted interest from Saudi Pro League giants, Al-Ettifaq, as well as English Championship club, Queens Park Rangers.

There were also reports about interest in Nwabali from Belgian Pro League side, Union Saint-Gilloise.

According to a report by All Nigeria Soccer, the Super Eagles star is expected to leave the Chilli Boys at the end of the season while Ofori's current deal with Orlando Pirates expires in June.

Chippa United are reportedly hoping to land the Ghanaian international on a free transfer despite the Bucs' willingness to offer him a new contract.

The Chilli Boys' hopes of landing Ofori could be cut short if the Black Stars goalkeeper agrees to stay with the Soweto giants.

Nwabali had an impressive outing at the AFCON in Ivory Coast, as the Super Eagles claimed a silver medal after a loss in the final to the host nation.

Nwabali speaks on pre-penalty mindset at AFCON

Sports Brief earlier reported on Nwabali speaking on his confidence and detailing his mindset before the penalty shootout during the semi-final tie between Nigeria and South Africa at AFCON 2023.

While many anticipated Bafana Bafana's Ronwen Williams to replicate his heroics from the quarter-final shootout against Cape Verde, it was the Super Eagles shot-stopper who stole the show instead.

With crucial saves against Teboho Mokoena and Evidence Makgopa sealing the deal, Nwabali emerged as the hero, securing victory for Nigeria as they advanced to the final against the Ivorian Elephants.
