Kylian Mbappe is determined to go all out to secure Paris Saint-Germain's elimination of Barcelona from the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday night.

Criticism was directed towards the Frenchman following his subdued performance in the Parisians' 3-2 defeat to the Catalan giants at Parc des Princes.

He managed only three shots with none on target while winning a mere two out of 10 ground duels and completing just one of four dribble attempts, per Sofascore.

PSG's aspirations for a miraculous turnaround in the second leg hinged heavily on the performance of their talisman.

As reported by Diario AS, the dynamic forward was resolute in his quest to eliminate Barcelona, thus keeping alive his enduring aspiration of clinching the Champions League title.

A defeat to Barcelona would be particularly bitter for Mbappe, given his unfruitful attempts to secure the Champions League trophy since joining the Parisians in 2017.

In the first leg, Mbappe found himself contained by the defensive capabilities of Jules Kounde, Ronald Araujo, and Pau Cubarsi as Barcelona secured a 3-2 victory in Paris.

Mbappe's goal drought

Despite scoring 39 goals and providing nine assists in 41 games this season, Mbappe's goal-scoring form has declined recently, with just one goal in his last six matches.

The French media have attributed Mbappe's drought to PSG manager, Luis Enrique's experimental tactics, but there's speculation that his focus might already be shifting elsewhere, with the UCL his sole concern at PSG.

In February, reports surfaced indicating his intention to depart as a free agent, most likely for Real Madrid. This season thus marks Mbappe's final opportunity to clinch the Champions League title with the Parisians.

Luis Enrique: Mbappe's PSG boss warns Barcelona

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that PSG manager, Enrique, has warned Barcelona ahead of their upcoming Champions League quarter-final second leg on Tuesday, April 16.

The tactician, who managed the Catalan giants from 2014 to 2017, expressed faith in his team's ability to overturn their first-leg deficit and secure the semi-final place.
