According to Business Day, Boniface, who joined Xabi Alonso’s team in July in a €22 million deal from Belgian side, Union Saint-Gilloise, contributed 11 goals and eight assists in only 18 matches to Leverkusen’s title triumph.

Bayer Leverkusen CEO Fernando Carro disclosed after their Bundesliga triumph that the club could sell one of their star players in the summer to fund the purchase of new players with Boniface expected to be the ideal target.

Here, Sports Brief takes a look at the list of top European clubs who have signalled an interest in Boniface when the transfer window opens in the summer.

5 clubs interested in Boniface

Napoli, A.C. Milan, and Juventus are three Serie A clubs who have reportedly indicated an interest in signing Boniface from Bayer Leverkusen in the summer when the transfer window opens, Soccernet reports.

West Ham United and Manchester United are also considered to be monitoring the Nigerian forward and could make a move for the 23-year-old striker should the opportunity arise.

Boniface is not actively on the market because Leverkusen intends to keep him. Should Leverkusen entertain proposals, they will only consider those exceeding €55 million.

Boniface reacts to Bundesliga win

The Super Eagles forward opened the score by converting a penalty kick to give his team a first-half lead, before Leverkusen dominated the second half.
