The Nigeria striker led the Italian club to their first title in 33 years following an outstanding campaign, which saw him also scoop the Golden Boot award.

During the celebrations last season, he reportedly called his friend and Nigeria teammate, Boniface, and predicted he would win the league with Bayer Leverkusen.

A year down the line, that prediction came true as Boniface and Leverkusen won a historic Bundesliga title, a first-ever German league trophy for the club.

After the game, Boniface took to social media to remind Osimhen of his statement from around 12 months earlier.

He wrote: "Last year after Napoli won the league, Victor Osimhen called me and told me next year is my year. He said more celebrations were on the way. Respect Victor Osimhen."

Osimhen has battled various injuries this season, hampering his campaign with the Italian champions.

However, top European clubs including Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly interested in signing the Super Eagles star.

Meanwhile, Boniface could end up winning the treble with Bayer Leverkusen, who are in the final of the DFB-Pokal and also on the brink of a semi-final place in the Europa League.

Boniface joined the club last season from Belgium outfit, Union Saint-Gilloise, as reported by One Football.
