  • Bayern Munich and Arsenal played a 2-2 draw at the Emirates Stadium
  • The UEFA Champions League quarter-final tie will be settled in Munich
  • Harry Kane scored on his return to London but should have seen red

Harry Kane scored against Arsenal yet again, but fans believe he should have received a red card for a nasty elbow challenge on defender Gabriel Magalhaes.

Kane scored from the penalty spot, sending goalkeeper David Raya the wrong way after William Saliba fouled Leroy Sane, who drove at the Arsenal defence on a counter, sending goalkeeper David Raya the wrong way

According to The Independent, it was his sixth goal at the Emirates Stadium, making him the opponent with the most goals against the Gunners in front of their home fans.

The match ended 2-2 with many controversies, with both sides claiming they should have had a penalty while the home team wanted the striker sent off.

Kane ‘lucky’ to escape red

The English striker caught defender Gabriel with an elbow to the neck during a duel, and Swedish referee Glenn Nyberg showed only a yellow card for the incident.

The former Tottenham Hotspur forward protested his innocence, claiming it was an accidental challenge, but the Gunners fans wanted him to be shown his marching orders.

@LeeSamaha wrote:

“Straight red. Note that Gabriel is already half way down before the ball is even in the frame. This is not Kane addressing the ball to receive, this is taking a player out to gain position by flinging an elbow.”

@11cannons replied:

“Red card all day. Spotted him and elbowed him in the throat.”

@prime_champions wrote:

“He checked, and he knew where Big Gabi was. It was the most intentional elbow I’ve seen in the game.”

It was not the first time the England national team captain had done the same challenge on the same player. He also did it during a North London derby in March 2021.

Gabriel Jesus hails Kane

Sports Brief reported on Gabriel Jesus hailing Kane as the best finisher in the world after the Brazilian was compared to the English striker before the game.

Kane is England and Tottenham's all-time top scorer but has yet to win a trophy and has already been labelled the curse by fans after Bayern failed to capture the Bundesliga title in his first season.
