As he waits for the perfect opportunity to return to the field, De Gea continues to connect with some of his former colleagues.
One such player is United captain Fernandes, who is seemingly good friends with the former Atletico Madrid man.
In a post shared on Instagram on Tueday, April 9, De Gea posed side by side with Fernandes as the duo took several selfies.
He captioned the photo “Dumb and Dumber”, in a movie reference to the classic Jim Carrey film with the same name.
The film is about two friends who set out on an adventurous road trip to return a briefcase left by a woman at an airport terminal, according to IMDB.
Bruno Fernandes kept the gag running as he issued a cheeky comment to the post by dragging another former Man United player to the banter.
“(We) are missing the biggest dumbest @juanmatagarcia”
De Gea for Man United
Despite leaving United in gloomy circumstances, there is no denying De Gea’s impact at the club.
