Former Ghana U20 defender, Lalas Abubakar, shared a heartwarming moment with Argentina legend, Lionel Messi, after Colorado Rapids' clash with Inter Miami in the Major League Soccer.
The Ghanaian centre-back, who recently obtained his US citizenship, watched from the bench as a Messi masterclass saw Inter Miami share the spoils with Colorado Rapids.
Messi climbed off the bench to score and level the scores after the visitors had opened the scoring from the spot through Rafael Navarro.
The former Barcelona forward also started the move which resulted in Leon Alfonso's second goal for Miami.

However, Rapids left it late to earn a point after Cole Basset scored two minutes from time.
In photos shared on social media, Abubakar was spotted with Messi after the game as they exchanged pleasantries.
Messi moved to the MLS last year after refusing to extend his stay at Paris Saint Germain and also returning to Barcelona. He helped Inter Miami win the Leagues Cup, as reported by CNN.
Meanwhile, Abubakar has spent his entire senior career in the United States, featuring for Columbus Crew and now the Colorado Rapids.
Lalas Abubakar receives US citizenship
Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Ghanaian-born defender, Lalas Abubakar received his US citizenship after a decade in the United States.
The ex-Ghana U20 defender moved to the United States to continue his education and football in 2014, spending two years at the University of Dayton.

Sports Brief also reported that Ghana and Charlotte FC defender, Harrison Afful finally met Lionel Messi during the Leagues Cup game against Inter Miami.
The veteran full-back walked to Messi at the end of the match to exchange jerseys with the 2022 FIFA World Cup winner.
Afful started the game before he was replaced with four minutes remaining as Charlotte suffered a 4-0 defeat at the DRV PNK Stadium.
