“I saw after the match that he was playing for Barcelona. It doesn't surprise me, he had a great match," he told Wiw Sport after the game.
"He's a super young guy who scored a superb shot. And there you have it, it hits the mark. Congratulations to him and to Senegal. It is a very great nation. We are proud to see these kinds of teams on the African continent. And we hope to be able to join them one day,” added the Gabon star.

Faye was making his international debut for the Teranga Lions after an explosive campaign with the Barcelona Team B.

According to Daily Express, Manchester United sent scouts to watch the teen sensation during the match on Friday.

The youngster is in line for another Senegal appearance when the West Africans face Benin on Tuesday.

Faye scores belter on Senegal debut

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Barcelona youngster Mikayil Faye scored a scorcher on his international debut as Senegal strolled to a 3-0 victory over Gabon.

The 19-year-old defender was handed his debut by Aliou Cisse after an impressive campaign with Barcelona's B team.

Faye started as Senegal put behind them a disappointing Africa Cup of Nations by rebuilding a new team with their youngsters in Europe.

Guelor sacked from Gabon camp

Sports Brief also reported that Guelor Kanga was sacked from Gabon's camp ahead of their international friendly against the Teranga Lions of Senegal for breaching national team riles.

The Red Star Belgrade attacking midfielder sneaked his brother and sister-in-law into the same hotel players of Gabon were lodging in.

As a result, and to instil discipline in his team, Gabon's coach, Thierry Mouyouma, had to let Kanga leave despite the player being one of the stars of the squad.
