The tributes continue to pour in for Luke Fleurs.

Manchester United first-team coach, Benni McCarthy, is the latest to pay tribute to the 24-year-old, who was tragically killed in a hijacking.

As noted by IOL, Fleurs pulled up to a petrol station in Johannesburg when he was approached by two men who demanded he get out of the vehicle.

When he did, one of the men shot him in the chest. He passed away before he could be rushed to a hospital.

McCarthy offers his condolences

Following his tragic death, tributes have been pouring in from across the footballing world for the former SuperSport United youngster.

McCarthy is the latest former footballer to pay his tribute, describing it as tragic while offering his condolences to the family.

McCarthy wasn’t the only Bafana Bafana legend to show their respects, as former captain, Lucas Radebe, also offered his condolences to the South African youngster.

Fleurs was called up to the Bafana team in 2021 and 2022, but had yet to make his official debut.

He also had yet to run out in the colours of Chiefs since moving to the club in October 2023 from SuperSport United.
