FootballJoao Felix Recommends Bernardo Silva to Barcelona Despite Being Unsure of His Future
- Joao Felix is on loan at Barcelona from fellow Spanish club Atletico Madrid
- The Portuguese attacker is unlikely to be retained due to his transfer fee
- He has recommended compatriot Bernardo Silva as an option for the club
Joao Felix appears to be punching above his pay grade after recommending his Portugal national teammate Bernardo Silva to Barcelona as an option in attack.
Felix joined Barcelona on loan from Atletico Madrid after failing out with head coach Diego Simeone and spent the second half of last season at Stamford Bridge with Chelsea.
His move to Barcelona was almost free after agreeing a massive pay cut to his salary to make the move possible due to the state of the La Liga champions' finances.
Per Transfermarkt, he has scored nine goals and provided six more assists so far, pushing the club to consider signing him permanently or having him on loan next season.

Felix recommends Silva to Barcelona
La Blaugrana have Felix's compatriot Bernardo Silva on their radar for about three seasons now, and the 24-year-old has vouched for his Portugal national teammate.
“Bring Bernardo Silva, bring him. He is very good and even better as a person. He asks me about Barcelona, he has family here. He asks me how things are here. I told him that everything was fine for him to come,” he said via Barca Universal.
“If I were Deco for a day, I would sign Bernardo Silva, without a doubt,” he added.
Silva has a contract at Manchester City until 2026, and the English champions will not entertain getting lowballed financially for one of their most important players.
For Felix, it is a big move to recommend players to a club that is not sure of completing a permanent move for you. Even if they sign Silva, it could impact the former Benfica star's place on the team.
