Liverpool legend Jamie Redknapp has weighed in on the situation at the side, laying the blame on the players.

As noted by talkSPORT, Redknapp believes Ten Hag could get the sack if their players' poor performances continue.

"I don't know what the Man United way of playing is. They had so many opportunities. Brentford were just better in every single department, he said."
"There's lots of talk about the manager. Will he still be here next year? I think the way that the players are playing right now and that kind of performance, they're going to decide because they're the sort of performances that get the manager the sack, because there was a lack of effort, Redknapp added.

The former Liverpool star added that United made Brentford look like Real Madrid due to the lack of energy.

Brentford managed 31 shots against United

While Redknapp's comments may seem harsh initially, they were made with good reason.

United endured a difficult day against the Bees, as they had to deal with 31 shots during the game.

While they were lucky to escape the game with a draw, despite being under constant pressure, they now find themselves falling behind in the chase for the European spots.

United are sixth in the league, eight points behind Tottenham Hotspur, with nine games to go.

Ten Hag unfazed by Gareth Southgate rumours

Sports Brief reported how United boss Ten Hag was unbothered by the recent reports surrounding his job.

The Dutch manager’s job is under threat, as Sir Jim Ratcliffe has amassed a minority stake in the English club.

Reports indicate that England national team manager Gareth Southgate was being considered for the post.
