Bafana Bafana head coach, Hugo Broos, has reassured his team that he is firmly staying put amid rumours linking him to the Tunisian national team position.

Reports emerging from North Africa suggested the Belgian tactician was being eyed as a potential successor to Jalal Kadri ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers in June.

Despite speculation claiming Broos had already agreed to join the Carthage Eagles at the end of his current deal with the South African Football Association (SAFA), he has suggested this was not true.

Tunisia, currently under interim coach Montasser Louhichi, are actively seeking a permanent manager.

Broos, who lifted the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) with Cameroon, reportedly stressed his commitment to players in the dressing room during the FIFA Series.

He directly addressed his players in a video clip currently circulating online, quelling any concerns about his departure.

"What you’ve heard and what you’ve read, there is nothing. Why should I leave such a good team as you?" Broos stated, as posted by iDiski Times.

Following the 3-3 draw with Algeria, he clarified that while there was interest from Club Brugge, there had been no contact with the Tunisian Federation.

The 71-year-old reiterated his commitment to guiding Bafana Bafana to the 2026 FIFA World Cup, giving reassurances that he would remain in charge for the upcoming matches.

South Africa is gearing up to face the Super Eagles of Nigeria and Zimbabwe in the tournament's qualifiers, scheduled for June, as reported by FIFA.
