  • Nigeria's tie with Mali will take centre stage in Morocco on Tuesday evening
  • Finidi George is hoping for a second win in a row in the international break
  • Sports Brief drops tips on Super Eagles stars who deserve to start the match

Nigeria are preparing for their second international friendly game in Morocco, where they will lock horns with the Eagles of Mali.

Super Eagles continued their good run of form since AFCON 2023 in their last match against Ghana, claiming a deserving 2-1 win over the Black Stars.

With some key players missing and loads of talent on the bench, there could be massive rotation in Nigeria's starting XI for their next game.

Sports Brief looks at five players who should make Finidi George's starting lineup against Mali tomorrow (March 26).

Super Eagles players to start against Mali:

Alex Iwobi

The former Arsenal star showed a different form in Nigeria's win over Ghana on Friday (March 22) as he was being deployed in his preferred position compared to his role at AFCON 2023.

The Fulham midfielder assisted Nigeria's second goal of the game against the Black Stars and was arguably the best player on the pitch.

Finidi needs to keep Iwobi's momentum going, and he should feature in the same role against the Eagles.

Nathan Tella

The former Southampton winger has only featured for Nigeria once since dumping England for the Super Eagles.

He missed out on the final cut for the AFCON, but he is back in the squad for the friendly games.

The Bayer Leverkusen man was on the bench all through Nigeria's victory over Ghana, and the game against Mali could be the perfect time to give him a starting nod.

Tella scored four goals in his last eight games for the German Bundesliga outfit before the international break.

Wilfred Ndidi

During the Ghana clash, the Leicester City star showed why he is one of Nigeria's most important players in the squad.

He brought balance to Nigeria's midfield in the game and could do the same against Mali on Tuesday.

Francis Uzoho

Many will disagree with the inclusion of Uzoho on the list, but Finidi must try out another goalkeeper in case of an emergency.

Stanley Nwabali has staked his claim as the undisputed number one for the Super Eagles, but measures need to be put in place for the days he would be absent from the team.

Benjamin Tanimu

The former Bendel Insurance defender had one of the best debuts for a Super Eagles player against Ghana and was deservedly praised by fans and the coach after the game.

With Calvin Bassey ruled out of the game, Tanimu should retain his spot in the starting XI against Mali.

Mali players that Nigeria should be cautious of

Sports Brief earlier highlighted a list of Mali players that the Nigerian team should be wary of in their encounter on Tuesday.

The Super Eagles are set to clash with Les Aigles in an international friendly in Morocco.
