  • All three teams are still in contention for the Champions League and Europa League titles
  • Those extra fixtures in Europe may spell the difference in where the Premier League title lands

The Premier League title race is going down the wire.

Just one point separates league leaders Arsenal and Liverpool, with Manchester City in third place.

Sports Brief examines how their respective schedules in the Champions League and Europa League will affect this tightest of title races.

Arsenal's Champions League schedule

Arsenal advanced to the quarter-finals of the UEFA Champions League after beating Porto in a dramatic penalty shootout. The Gunners drew Bayern Munich in the last 8, with the first leg set to take place on Tuesday, April 9.

Before that match against Bayern, the Gunners will face a tricky away match against Brighton at American Express Stadium on April 6.

The good news for Arsenal is that the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final will be held at the Emirates Stadium, so the travel isn't that big of a problem.

The Gunners will then have five days to prepare for their home clash with Aston Villa in the Premier League on April 14.

There will be a quick turnaround for Arsenal, as they have to face Bayern on the road at Allianz Arena on April 17 for the second leg of their quarter-final clash, per The Athletic.

Another away match awaits them on April 20, with Arsenal traveling to the Molineux to face Wolves in the Premier League.

Manchester City's Champions League schedule

Manchester City reached the quarter-finals of the UEFA Champions League after beating FC Copenhagen 6-2 on aggregate in the Round of 16.

The defending champions drew Real Madrid in the last 8, with the first leg set to take place on Tuesday, April 9.

Before that game against Real, City will face Crystal Palace on the road on April 6. They will then travel to Madrid to face the Spanish giants on April 9, with only three days separating those two important road games.

Pep Guardiola's men will then have four days to prepare for their home clash with Luton Town in the Premier League on April 13.

They won't have to travel for their next game, with the second leg of their quarter-final against Real Madrid set to take place at the Etihad Stadium on April 17.

Given the task at hand against Real, City more than likely will rotate their players for the game against Luton, a team that is in the Premier League relegation zone.

Liverpool's Europa League schedule

Liverpool have a disadvantage compared to Arsenal and Manchester City as they are competing in the Europa League and not the Champions League.

As a result, their matches in Europe are held on Thursday nights, meaning they have less time to prepare for their Premier League contests on the weekend.

They advanced to the quarter-finals of the Europa League after crushing Sparta Praha 11-2 on aggregate in the Round of 16. The Reds drew Atalanta in the last 8, with the first leg set to take place on Thursday, April 11.

Before that match against Atalanta, the Reds will face a tough test on the road against bitter rivals Manchester United at Old Trafford on April 7.

The good news for Liverpool is that the first leg of their Europa League quarter-final will be held at Anfield, so there won't be a lot of traveling during this period.

The Reds will then have three days to prepare for their home clash with Crystal Palace in the Premier League on April 14.

Liverpool will then depart for Italy, as they have to face Atalanta on the road on April 18 for the second leg of their quarter-final showdown.

Another away game awaits them on April 21, with Liverpool traveling to Craven Cottage to face Fulham in the Premier League.

Man City and Arsenal's injury concerns

Sports Brief recently reported on the injury concerns of Manchester City and Arsenal ahead of their Premier League clash.

Arsenal's Bukayo Saka pulled out of England's friendlies against Brazil and Belgium due to a minor muscle problem.

Man City's Kyle Walker was forced off in the first half of England's friendly against Brazil after suffering an apparent hamstring injury.
